Daily Surf and Wind Report

Wednesday, January 14 2015

We are in the midst of a couple day winter Northeaster.  The swell doesn't seem to be getting too big so atleast the Hwy 12 isn't having any problems.  The long range Forcast shows some warmer wind coming early next week and again the following weekend.  Not sure the water temp will still be in the upper 50's after this storm though.

As you can see the water temps don't really reflect that its January and the high was 28 degrees the other day.  We definitrly aren't complaining.  Hope this pattern will continue all winter and we can have a warm and windy Spring.  There is no shortage of wind here either.

After beautiful weather with not much wind last week, this week there has been plenty of wind but it has been on the chilly side.  3 of the last 4 days have seen North or Northeast winds in the 30-35 MPH range with air temps in the mid 50's.  Perfect conidtions for sails in the upper 3's or low 4 meters and that old heavy Fox Custom.  We have had several customers in the store the last couple days saying how great a time they have had riding their old Fox board.

This week looks great for warm southwest wind and we desperately need.  This past week we saw plenty of wind but all from the north  driving air and water temps back down to the mid 40's.  Starting Monday 4/8 it looks liek we are FINALLY going to shift to our normal spring time weather pattern.....

After a long and cold March, April has finally arrived and by the looks of it we should see a fair amount of wind.  The forecast looks promising for most of the week with some SW warm winds for thursday and sunday.  While the water temps are still a bit chilly it won't take more than a couple days of hard SW to warm it right up.  http://www.foxwatersports.com/windguru

Well atleast the ocean knows its spring.  As you can see form the picture there is some upper 50's to even 60 degree water just south of here so all it will take is one day of southwest to warm things up.  I am in desperate neep of some type of session surf/kite/windsurf with no gloves.  The long range forecast is starting to show some SW for Easter weekend.  Cross your fingers!!!!

Punxsutawney Phil apparently died today of a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head after recently predicting an early spring.  As you can see from the link below that we have more cold NW wind on the way for next week.  Lets all hope that this is the end of this pattern and we get the warm SW spring pattern started soon.
